Signing of Agreements
This practice memo describes the legal and practical considerations with regards to signing commercial agreements under Cyprus law. It includes, inter alia, the legal requirements, consequence of signing, practical requirements, information on initials, witnesses, authorised signatories and corporate authority, signing under seal, signing in counterparts, signing as a deed, electronic signatures and other relevant matters. It goes further to include elaborate signing instructions both in the context of a meeting, where the counter parties are physically present, and in the context of cross border and other types of transaction by distance where the counter parties are not physically present.
